Meet Our Founder, Richa Inamdar

Padamya School of Bharatanatyam was founded by Richa Inamdar, a devoted dancer and educator who holds both a Bachelor’s (BA) and Master’s (MA) degree in Bharatanatyam, and completed her Visharad Poorna from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

Having begun her journey at the young age of 5, Richa has dedicated years to mastering the purity of this classical art form. Through Padamya, her mission is to pass on this beautiful tradition with deep sincerity, focusing on strong fundamentals, rhythmic discipline, and expressive clarity.

The teaching philosophy at Padamya school of Bharatnatyam is rooted in patience, discipline, and a deep respect for the classical tradition. Emphasis is placed on building strong fundamentals through consistent practice, mindful repetition and clear understanding rather than rote memorization. Students are encouraged to embrace mistakes as a part of the learning process and to develop confidence through gradual refinement. Equal importance is given to technique, rhythm, expression and body awareness, ensuring a holistic approach to learning Bharatnatyam. The classroom environment is supportive and focused, allowing each student to progress at their own pace while maintaining the integrity and purity of the art form.
